Dr. Michael Hildreth received his Ph.D. from Tulane University in New Orleans, and then served as a post-doctoral associate at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked at South Dakota State University since 1987, with joint appointments in the Departments of Biology/Microbiology and Veterinary/Biomedical Sciences. He is also the coordinator to the SDSU Functional Genomics Core Facility. Dr. Hildreth’s research has focused on various aspects of veterinary and medical parasitology. For the last 15 years, he has been working closely with the South Dakota Department of Health on their West Nile Virus surveillance project.
